Dress Code & Etiquette

Prior to Play

  • Arrive at least fifteen minutes early to check-in at the Golf Shop.
  • If you cannot meet your tee-time booking please contact the Golf Shop to cancel.
  • Subject to other cancellations, you may be asked to change playing groups.
  • Collect a sand bucket from areas adjacent to the Golfer’s Terrace.
  • Be ready to play when it is your time to tee off.

On the Tee

  • Mark your ball so that you can identify it.
  • Hit ONLY when golfers ahead of you are out of range.
  • Stand still and facing other golfers while they are hitting.
  • Watch where all balls go to minimise time spent looking for lost balls.
  • Yell the warning “FORE!” if your ball is heading toward another golfer or if you cannot see where your ball will land.
  • Sand your divot.

The Fairway

  • Walk directly to your ball unless you reach someone else’s ball first or you are out of their line of play.
  • Place your bag or cart near you when hitting (but not on the green).
  • Take no more than one practice swing.
  • Player furthest from the hole usually plays first, but golfers out of range of the group in front can play first, if ready.
  • Sand your divot, and others you may see whilst walking the fairways.
  • Walk briskly between shots and be ready to play when it is your turn.
  • Keep Pace with the group in front of you at all times.
  • Assist playing partners when needed by moving their clubs, finding lost balls and raking bunkers etc.
  • Adhere to motorised cart rules at all times.

On the Green

  • Place your bag or cart between the green and the next tee.
  • Take with you all clubs that you may need.
  • Repair your own ball marks and others.
  • Avoid stepping on another player’s putting line.
  • The person furthest away from the hole putts first ( event if off the green)
  • On long putts, have another player attend the flagstick.
  • Mark your ball if it is in the path of another player’s ball.
  • Record all scores for the hole on the next tee whilst you are waiting to tee-off.

YES     Neat and Tidy appearance, clothing shall be appropriate for golf

YES     Tailored shorts, slacks or skirts

YES     Soft spiked golf or athletic style shoes with short or long socks

predominantly white

NO      T shirts, sleeveless shirts or singlets

NO      Torn, ripped, or soiled clothing

NO      Football jumpers or tracksuit pants

NO      Denim clothing of any description

NO      Football socks, work boots

NO      Apparel with objectionable branding / slogans

NO      Thongs

Penalty for Breach of Dress Regulations:

If you fail to meet the above dress requirements, the General Manager or a Member of the Management Committee:
1. Will remind you of your obligations under this Dress Code; and
2. May ask you to leave the Golf course or the Club house

The General Manager may decide at any time to refer the matter to the Management Committee who may, upon having complied with the rules of natural justice and procedural fairness, decide to either:
1. Suspend you from the Golf course and/or Club house for up to three (3) months;
2. Give you a written warning enclosing a copy of this Dress Code; or
3. Apply another penalty the Management Committee considers appropriate
